Martha C. Burkett, 95, went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2014 while residing at St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville. An Akron native, Mrs. Burkett was the daughter of the late Wesley and Mabel Barger and was a long time member of The Church of the Master (now Family Faith Church).
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman; son, Wesley; sister, Pauline Hicks; brothers, Russell and William Barger. She leaves to mourn her passing sons, Jerry (Mary Ellen) Burkett, and Jay (Pamela) Burkett; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Family Faith Church (Church of the Master), 800 E. Market St. in Akron.
