Mary Ellen Pierce Sheridan, age 88, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2014

She was born March 31, 1926 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Floyd and Helen Pierce. Mary Ellen grew up in Union City, Tennessee and has resided in Cuyahoga Falls, Silver Lake, Ohio and Marco Island, Florida. She was a charter member of Silver Lake Country Club, and was an avid bridge play and golfer.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George R. Sheridan, sisters Katherine P Graham, Virginia P. Johnson, and Mary Katherine Bondurant.

Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter Helen (G. Frederick) Compton of Silver Lake, sister Betty Ann Keiser of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, George Helwagen of Silver Lake, Paul (Bridget) Helwagen of Lyndhurst, Jane Carroll-Spelich of Stow; great-grandchildren Alexandra Helwagen and Hunter W. Helwagen; Niece Kate (Joe Don) House of Clinton, Kentucky, nephew Brooks Keiser of Memphis, Tennessee.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM at Laurel Lake Retirement Community, Hudson, Ohio, on Saturday, June 7, 2014, with a reception immediately following. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM, prior to the service.
