Obituary for Barbara M. Tonhaeuser (Geiser)

Barbara M.  Tonhaeuser (Geiser)
Barbara Marie Tonhaeuser, 76, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24.

Born in Yugoslavia, Barbara emigrated to America with her parents from Kupfenberg, Austria in 1952. Barbara shared many fond memories with her friends from the German American Club and the GBU on Grant St. Barbara married her favorite dance partner, Henry in 1961. Together they had four boys, Mark, Karl-Heinz, Kurt and Henry. Barbara instilled culture and heritage throughout their upbringing, providing wonderful meals and a warm heart. Barbara was and active member of the German Family Society where she was leader of various youth groups and promoted the cultural heritage throughout her over 40 years of dedicated service to the “club”. She loved dancing, singing and spending many happy times with her husband and close friends, traveling and creating a lifetime of wonderful memories. Barbara not once complained of pain during her fight with cancer. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son Mark; and recently her brother, Joseph. Her survivors include her sons, Karl-Heinz (Heidi), Kurt Eugene (Megan), and Henry (Sylvia); grandchildren, Alexander and Nikolaus, Carmen, Mark, Heidi, Sophia, Cole, and Kurt Eugene; sister, Adelheide Geiser; and niece, Brittany.
