It allows family and friends a place to re-visit, interact with each other, share and enhance this tribute for future generations. Obituary for David A. Breiding, DVM

David A.  Breiding, DVM
David A. Breiding DVM, 83, passed away on January 17.
Born in Akron, the son of the late Leonard J. and Grace M. Breiding, Dr. Breiding has been a life long Akron resident. He graduated from St. Vincent High School, Class of ’49 before attending Ohio State where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Together with Dr. David Drenan he co-founded the Tallmadge Animal Hospital. He was a long time member of Christ the King Parish and later Blessed Trinity Parish.

In 2003 he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Martha. His survivors include daughters, Theresa (George) Afram, Carolyn (Michael) Hall, and Margaret Elder; sons, David (Sylvia), Michael (Elvira), and Leonard (Molly); sister, Annie Malecky; brothers, Richard and Leonard; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. His sister, Lenore Denker and daughter-in-law Dauna also preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. or to Blessed Trinity Parish.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff of the Gables of KentRidge and Harbor Light Hospice for their professional and loving care. Also they would like to thank Dr. Michael Andrews and all of Dad’s friends and co-workers at Tallmadge Animal Hospital for their loyal devotion.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (300 E. Tallmadge Ave.).
