Charles T Mc Dowell

A loving husband and father born July 31, 1918 in Coshocton, Ohio. A longtime resident of Akron and a devout catholic, he helped establish a chapter of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima and was a member of the Holy Name Society of the former Annunciation Church of Akron. He was a member of the Hibernian Club Mark Heffernan Division, Knights of Columbus South Akron Council, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

He was preceded in life by his grandson, C T Mc Dowell.

Survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorraine Showman of Connellsville, PA, then children, daughters Judy Mosser of Cuyahoga Falls, and Mary Ann and husband, Ron Fiedler of Texas, sons Tom and wife Cindy of Akron, and Bill and wife Elaine of Cuyahoga Falls; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was a sports enthusiast and belonged to a pool league, bowling league, and was a long time member of a chess club; he also enjoyed watching football and baseball.

Friends may call 6-8PM Sunday at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 811 Grant St. in Akron, where the Rosary will e prayed at 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated 10AM Monday, July 20th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 750 S. Main St. in Akron.
