Obituary for Robert Allen "Bob" Lewis Jr.

Robert Allen "Bob"  Lewis Jr.
Robert Allen Lewis, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2015. Born April 21, 1923 to the late Robert Allen and Edith Drumm Lewis, Sr. Bob had been an Akron resident his entire life.
In addition to his parents and an infant daughter, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Alma (Pironti) on November 29t, 2006 after 45 years of wonderful marriage.
Bob attended Akron Public Schools, graduated from Central High School and attended Akron University to obtain his State Boiler Operative License.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert Dennis Lewis and Linda Boffa Lewis.
He was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church where he served as a reader and Eucharistic minister. Member and past-president of St. Pauls Chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and served with the 41st. Infantry Division in the Philippines and South Pacific earning a Purple Heart, Pacific Theatre Ribbon with a Bronze Star, Philippines Liberation Ribbon and Occupation Ribbon for duty in Japan.
Bob was a member of K of C council 3410, He has also been a loyal and dependable member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1962 carrying the message of hope and relief to the still suffering alcoholic.
Bob retired from Akron Public Schools after 30 years of service as a Head Custodian and Boiler Operator last working at Ellet High School.
Friends may call Thursday 5-7PM at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 811 Grant St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30AM Friday, July 24th. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
