Obituary for Sharon A. Herrick (Estead)

Sharon A.  Herrick (Estead)
Sharon A. Herrick, 65, of Akron passed away suddenly on January 30. Born in Akron, Sharon graduated from Annunciation Grade School and St. Mary's High School (Class of '68). She was a member of St. Paul's Parish, an active member in the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Margaret Judge Division, and a proud member of St. Marys Belles.

Her survivors include loving husband of 44 years, Michael P.; mother, Doris Estead; sisters, Nancy (Tim) Steingass, and Sue (Doug) Ott; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen DiGiammarino, Raymond Herrick, Paul Herrick, John Herrick, and Marianne Freymoyer; many loving nieces, nephews and grand- nieces and -nephews. She also leaves many, many close personal friends including Robert Traster, Patty Genda, the Yasosky's, and her beloved pets.

Sharon loved the days she spent with her sisters, mom, family and friends. She was a second mom to Danielle and Christopher Ott, and a weekend mom to many. She will be missed by so many whose lives were touched by her love, generosity and spirit. No one else will ever fill her shoes, or flip flops.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will recite the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Private interment will take place later.
