Obituary for Joseph Donald "Don" Daugherty

Joseph Donald "Don"  Daugherty
Joseph “Don” Daugherty, 84, of Stow passed away peacefully on May 22. Born in Lexington, Ky. to the late Chester and Mary Daugherty, he has been an area resident since 1960. Don had graduated from the University of Kentucky and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber where he worked as Senior Research Chemist. A member of the American Chemical Society, and the Latuchie Tennis Club, he was also a member of Holy Family Parish.

His survivors include wife of 60 years, Denise; children, Patrick, Cathleen (David) Harp, Daniel, John, Marianne Long, and Thomas; brother, Paul; and sister, Ruth Dunne; as well as 8 grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Nancy, and brother Chester.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., Fr. Mike Ausperk officiating. Private interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will take place later.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Medina County (5075 Windfall Rd, Medina, 44256) or to Holy Family Parish.
