Obituary for Thomas A. Labbe

Thomas A. Labbe, 76, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 under the care of Hospice of Marion County. Thomas was born in Akron, Ohio on March 11, 1940. He graduated from Hoban High school and The University of Akron. Tom was active in scouts and youth football when his children were younger. He was a talented artist and woodcarver. He carved Eagle canes for military members who lost a limb while serving our country. Tom was a devout Christian and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family in Ohio and St. Mark’s in Florida. He enjoyed square dancing in both Ohio and Florida. Tom retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and From IBM.
Survivors include wife of 40 years Donna Labbe; children Mike Labbe, PA, David Labbe (Natalie), UT, Bill Bowman (Amy), OH, Dan Bowman (Linda), OH, and Cindy Rumsey (Richard), VA; grandchildren Joshua (Jamie), NV, Cassie and Kaylee Labbe, PA, Dustin Labbe, UT, Brittany Graham, UT, Bryan Bowman (Emily), OH, Matt, Jarrod and Dan Bowman, OH, Kevin Bowman, KY, Lauren, Jacob and Luke Rumsey, VA; great-grandchildren Gracie, Hunter, Steven, Justin and Liam; brother Robert Labbe (Margie), OH; sister Helen Tummel (Paul), OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Dianne LaMunyan; parents Edward and Mary Helen Labbe; and sister Mary Appleman.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church.
