Josephine  Majewski (Guistino)
Josephine Majewski went home to be with the Lord on September 5th, 2016. Born on July 13, 1926, she was a life long resident of Akron, Ohio. Preceded in death by parents Michael and Carmela Giustino, her husband Stanley and son, James, Josephine is survived by her sister, Rose Bogich, daughter Stella Finn (Jim), and son, John Majewski (Karen), as well as her much loved grandchildren Jennifer Reep (Ben), Erin Manning (Dan), David Majewski and Kevin Finn.
In addition, Josephine was blessed with four great grand children, Madison, Hannah, Finn and Liam. They continually received the warmth and love that so easily flowed from “JoJo”.
Joey came from a large Italian family of 10 brothers and sisters. The eight that preceded her in death were Mary, Jim, Dan, Rocco, Nick, Sue, Orlando and John . Her close knit family had grown the “Giustino Clan” to more than 100 relatives.
Joey enjoyed cooking, reading, walking and gardening. She loved her time working the Annunciation soup kitchen where she had volunteered for more than 20 years. She was also an active member of St. Anne’s Guild. She considered herself to be the Cleveland Cavaliers number 1 fan.
She lived at St. Edward’s Village this past year where she so enjoyed going to mass and participating in many activities.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank.
Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 PM at the Dunn – Quigley Funeral Home at 811 Grant St, Akron, Ohio with a Funeral Mass at the Visitation of Mary Church (Annunciation), Akron, Ohio at 10:00 AM Saturday.
