Obituary for Michael Hansel

Michael  Hansel
Michael Hansel ,72, passed away on September 24 after a long illness. Born in Akron, he was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy "Dixie" Hansel. His survivors include sister, Patricia Hansel; aunt, Margy Sprain; close caring family friends, Toni Howe and Cheryl Just; and many cousins.

Michael worked for Weaver Industries Workshop for more than 30 years. He was a dependable hardworking individual and enjoyed being with his friends. For the past three years St Luke's Nursing Facility, Portage Lakes was his home. Residents and staff were good friends for him. He also looked forward to regularly attending Summit Adult Day Services where he had fun with other clients Michael loved little children and animals particularly dogs, "doggies" as he called them. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Michael's name to any animal rescue of your choice.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church (1580 Brown St., Akron 44301) followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
