Obituary for John G. Antal

John G. Antal
John G. Antal, 75, of Green passed away on Oct. 6 following a brief illness. Born in Akron, he was the son of the late John Antal and Anna Magyar. He was retired from Giant Eagle. For over 50 years, he was a member of Allenside Athletic Club. An avid golfer, John cherished his friendships with his many golf buddies, including Pete (Kathy) Casey and Ken Feist. His survivors include wife of 54 years, Carol; daughter, Nikki (John) Halstead; grandsons, Michael and Brian Weeks; step-grandchildren, Johnny and Brittany Halstead; brothers, Joe (Shirlie) and Steve (Sandy); nieces and nephew, Sue (Charles) Dafoe, Connie Torres and Doug (Cindy "Bean") Swartz, and ; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Swartz and Bertha Swartz; close family friends Steve and Michelle Salmons. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Oct. 22 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenmore. Following the Mass, the family will host a Celebration of Life brunch in lieu of calling hours (details to follow). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
