Obituary for Barbara L. Bell

Barbara L.  Bell
Barbara L. Bell , recently of Tallmadge, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2017, following a brief illness.
Barb was born in Sharon, Pa. She graduated from Hickory High School in 1969. For a time she was a teacher's aide at a preschool for special needs children in Patagonia Township. She resided in Hermitage, Pa. Barb loved writing articles for the Synergy Gazette, and helping out with grocery shopping.
Barb moved to Ohio in 2006. She soon began competing in bowling and bocce events with Hudson Special Olympics. She competed locally and on the state level in Columbus, Ohio and was awarded many medals and ribbons.
Barb participated in programs at United Disability Services in Kent , Ohio, and later worked at Propac through Weaver Industries. She also enjoyed day programs at Catholic Charities in Akron, Ohio.
Barb's faith was important to her. She enjoyed Faith and Light Programs and even annual retreats. She was active in Rejoicing Spirits services, where she often led the congregation in The Lord's Prayer.
Barb loved writing letters and getting mail. She loved crafting and concerts. She travelled to Texas, Niagara Falls, North Carolina, and even enjoyed a Caribbean Cruise.
Barb loved babies and children, in particular her new great-niece, Camille. She loved family and gatherings and special occasions.
Preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Ida Bell; Barb is survived by sister, Joyce (Larry) Penman; brother, James (Karen) Bell; niece and nephews, Laura, Nicholas, and Jeremy Penman and Justin and Kyle Bell.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, January 17th from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91) where funeral services will take place at 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Cemetery in Hemitage, Pa.
