Obituary for Arthur Pimm

Arthur  Pimm
Arthur was born on September 8, 1921 and passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on September 1, 2017, just one week shy of his 96th birthday. He was born in Alexandria, Ontario, Canada and grew up in Cornwall, Ontario. He served 5 years in the Canadian army during WW II, rising from the rank of Private to Lieutenant. After the war he married his sweetheart, Jonni, and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from McGill University in Montreal. He worked for 50 years as an architect after which he worked for Enterprise Car Rental for fifteen years until this year. He was an avid sailor, golfer and a champion rifle shooter. Art and Jonni travelled extensively around the U.S., as well as visiting England, Ireland, Portugal and Mexico. He was a long time member of Silver Lake Country Club and served 21 years on Silver Lake Village Planning and Zoning Commission.
Preceded in death by wife, Jonni and son, Lee, his survivors include children, Maggie Lewis (Floyd), daughter-in-law, Cathy Pimm, Liz Kraus (Bob), Tony Pimm (Margaret), Katy Fenshaw (Ken); grandchildren, John, Nate, Robbie, Mike P., Alex, Peter, Michael K., Betty, Mary, Lauren, August, Katie, Arthur, Zoe, Hannah; 9 great grandchildren; his brother, Gordon Pimm (June); and his beloved cat, Helen.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt.91). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at at 10:00 a.m.St Eugene Catholic Church.
