Obituary for Jack D. Huggins

Jack D.  Huggins
Jack D. Huggins, 88, of Silver Lake passed away at home on Nov. 26. Born in Allen Park, Mich. to the late Stanley and Cecile Huggins, Mr. Huggins was retired from the University of Akron where he was a Professor in the Business College. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. His many memberships and pastimes include Sons of the American Revolution, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the American Legion. He also enjoyed singing barbershop with the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S. A. and performing with the Akron Symphony Chorus.
In 2016 he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Virginia. His siblings, Donald, Mildred Mesias, William, and Carol Hodgson also preceded him in death. His survivors include sisters, Marge Huggins and Patricia Delise, and brother, Francis; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Fr. Kevin Klonowski will officiate at a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will take place on TUESDAY at 1:30 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (Meet at the cemetery by 1:15).
