Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home

History

In 1953, Jack Dunn opened the doors to a new funeral home in South Akron, and soon after, Bill Quigley soon joined Jack in the business. Then in 1962, the company acquired the former Gregory Funeral Home in Stow. The historic Titus Wetmore home had been transformed into Stow's first funeral home by Rev. Leo Gregory. Since then, the facility has been enlarged and updated, with special attention given to maintaining the historical integrity of this important local landmark.

Over the years, the business has grown from that two-story brick home on Grant Street, but the original philosophy-providing quality service with professionalism and integrity, from one family to another-has remained the same. That is why we focus on hospitality and welcome and have incorporated the pineapple, which is a symbol of hospitality, into our logo.

Today, Jack Dunn's son and current president, Dennis Dunn, proudly continues that tradition of service; he is aided by a very capable and long-standing professional staff. Funeral director Jim McKnight has added his own unique expertise, as does our small but dedicated non-licensed support staff.

Funeral service has changed over the past fifty years. As our society changes, the needs of families have also evolved. We at Dunn-Quigley constantly strive to adapt to those changes, but one thing that will never change is our dedication. We've been dedicated to quality since 1953.
