Obituary for Coletta M. Cox

Coletta M. Cox, 99, passed away on February 25, 2017. God saw Coletta getting tired and recovery was not meant to be, so He wrapped His arms around her and whispered come home to Me. Coletta was born in Akron on January 9. 1918 to the late Adam and Madeline Hackenberg. She was very active with the V.F.W. Auxiliary for many years and volunteered a the Brecksville V.A. Hospital where she was known a the "Donut Lady" by the patients. She also loved feeding and talking to her red birds.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond; son-in-law, John W. Speicher, Sr.; and sister, Eleanor Ross. She will be deeply missed by her children: son, Ronald (Pat) Russell; daughters, Linda Speicher, and Shirley Ann Hentosz; grandchildren, Rebecca (Dick) Offenberger, Renee (Tim) LiCause, John W. Speicher, Jr., Coletta (Bill) Dane, Jon David, Daniel, and Vincent Hentosz; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchilden; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff and Pebble Creek Senior Care Residence and Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service. A special thank you to her nurse Kristi.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made in Coletta's name to Pebble Creek to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 to Noon at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where funeral services will take place at 12 Noon. Entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum will follow
