Obituary for Anita Peters (Duchaine)

Anita Peters (née Duchaine), born July 1, 1930 in Trois-Rivières, QC, Canada, passed peacefully on the night of October 8, 2022.
After moving from Canada to Ohio in 1955, Anita created a beautiful, full life with her husband Raymond Peters (before becoming widowed and raising a family on her own at a young age). She was a loving and dedicated mother of Maureen Paulett (John), June Paulett (Jim), Raymond Peters (Annette), Deborah Morgan (Brian). Beloved grandmother of John M. Paulett, Pascale Hawkins (Paul), Kim Paulett, Sarah Paulett, Patrick Paulett (Jennifer), Kevin Paulett, Mary Leonard (Dave), Amanda Peters, Jillian Stemple (Chris), Joshua Morgan, Stephanie Recktenwald (Adam), Jonathan Peters (Stormi), and Caleb Morgan (Lana). Great Grandmother of Megan Kelleher (James), Elizabeth Hawkins, Tucker Scolaro, Hannah Scolaro (John), Emily Hawkins, Emily Scolaro, Sydney Hawkins, Michael Scolaro, Maci (“Mac”) Paulett, Angelica Paulett-Samadi, Cameron Samadi, Paul Hawkins, Isabel Samadi, Neave Leonard, Lillian Samadi, Finn Paulett, London Recktenwald, Grant Leonard, Apollo Recktenwald, Kai Paulett, Aria Stemple, Reid Leonard, Ezlyn Peters, Valyn Peters, and Leonidas Stemple, Great-great Grandmother of Lucas Kelleher, Langston Kelleher, and Antoinette (“Etta”) Kelleher. Sister of Mario Duchaine. Beloved aunt of many. Anita is predeceased by her cherished husband Raymond Peters; loving parents Auréa Duchaine and Antonio Duchaine; siblings Jeanne Duchaine, Thérèse Farquharson, Gisèle Duchaine, Denise Petrov, and Marcel Duchaine; niece Johanne Burford; and grandson Michael Paulett.
Anita shared a deep love with her extended family, including many nieces and nephews, and they will miss her terribly. Anita loved living life to the fullest and did so independently throughout her 92 years. She loved cooking, baking, gathering with family, and traveling. She continued her husband's love of baseball and the Cleveland Guardians as an avid fan. She was very caring for her rescue poodle Francois. Anita was fun, feisty, and beautiful, with a soft, intelligent demeanor. She was always welcoming and supportive of those she loved, and was grateful for having them in her long, happy life. The family wishes to thank the loving Hospice nurses and doctors at Akron Summa Health System on Anita’s behalf - they patiently provided compassion and care to Anita and her family, who were not ready to let her go but will send her on her journey home with love and blessings. Much gratitude also to those family members who lovingly visited Anita in her final weeks.
Her loved ones, including family, extended family will gather at Holy Family Parish Church, 3179 Kent Rd. in Stow on Saturday October 15th at 10:30a.m. with a funeral mass beginning at noon followed by burial at North Lawn Cemetery (on State Road in
Peninsula). In lieu of flowers, donations to the PAWSibilities, Humane Society of Greater Akron in Twinsburg, Ohio or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of Memphis, Tennessee would be greatly appreciated.
