Catherine (Kay) M. Rose (nee Leachko), 82, passed away on November 29, 2019. Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania one of eight children of the late George and Helen Leachko. Kay grew up in Uniontown and moved to Youngstown, Ohio after marrying her high school sweetheart, the late Alfred Rose. They moved to Cuyahoga Falls where they raised their family and then to Chicago before retiring in Stow. Kay was employed in jewelry sales, as a day-care cook, and office manager in the oilfield and construction industries. She was a former member of Women in Construction. She loved sports and never missed a Browns, Cavaliers or Indians game on TV. Her pride and greatest joy were her family. She found abundant happiness in her grandchildren either watching them play sports, acting in plays, baking cookies for graduations and weddings, or talking to them about careers and dreams. She was in awe of her two great-grandsons who love sports as much as she did.
Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Alfred, she is survived by her three children, Sharon (Brian) Logue, Susan (Jerry) Rose-Thomas, Allyn (Phyllis); 5 grandchildren, Adam, Michele, Stephanie, Allyson and Kevin; and 2 great-grandsons.
A private service was held on December 3, 2019 at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home in Stow followed by interment at the Silver Springs Cemetery. Officiant, Father Mike Ausperk, St. Francis Xavier, Medina.
