Obituary for Christy Lee Sadowski (Hensel)
Christy Lee Sadowski, 72, of Stow, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. Born in Akron, the daughter of the late Leon and Genevieve Hensel. Christy had attended St. Joseph Grade School and was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Her survivors include husband of nearly 50 years, Daniel J.; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Mercurio; son, Scott; grandchildren, Olivia, Teagan, Madeline, Cameron, and Emily. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her sisters, Marsha Flight and Linda Peshek, and brother, Mike McCoy, all preceded her in death.
Christy enjoyed spending her summers at her lake house in Marblehead. She loved boating on Lake Erie, feeling free on the open waters under the bright sun. Christy also loved to shop. Bargain hunting was her specialty and she was known to travel near and far for that deal that just couldn’t be passed up! She was creative with a keen eye for design. Spending time with family and friends laughing and making memories brought her great happiness. Through good times and bad she relied on her strong faith in God to carry her through life. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and being their “Nana” was her entire world. From spending time with them to celebrating every accomplishment, she was so proud of them and loved each of them with her whole heart. Her sense of humor and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 at Holy Family Catholic Church, interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
