Donald P. Sulak, 90, of Tallmadge passed away on March 30. He was born in Cleveland on March 17, 1929, the son of the late Andrew and Mary Frances Sulak. After being honorably discharged from the Navy at the end of WWII, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a proud member of the Korean War Veterans Assoc. A machinist by trade, Don retired from NASA as a metal model-maker after more than 30 years of service. He was past president of the NASA ski club.
An active member of Holy Family Parish in Stow, Don was also a member of Serra Club, and served as a Eucharistic minister at Briarwood nursing home.
His survivors include wife of 18 years, Catherine; daughters, Donna (Andrew) Miles, and Ann (John) Thompson; step-children, Kathleen (Bill) Kandiko, Laura (Mike Bates) Kantorowski, Marie (Phil) Krupa, Nannette (Norris) Roberts, and Robert (Patti) Kantorowski; 12 grandchildren; as well as many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children, Diane Sulak and Donald Sulak, Jr.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
