HUDSON - Edward Lariccia, 79, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021 at Heritage of Hudson, Hudson,Ohio from an extended illness.
He was born January 19, 1942 the first child of Joseph and Millie Napolitano Lariccia. He graduated from The Rayen High School in 1960 and from Youngstown University in 1965 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. While at YU he was the manager of the varsity basketball team and a member of Theta Xi Fraternity. Upon graduation, he obtained a Master’s degree in Recreation Administration from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan where he was night manager of its student union.
Ed taught and coached Jr. and Senior High School basketball in many area schools. He also had a career with Nemenz Supermarkets as their dairy manager and as a sales representative for Frito-LAY.
He is survived by his brother Fred (Kathy) Lariccia of Boardman,Ohio; his children AnnMarie, John, and Anthony; and his sister-in-law, Jeri Lariccia. Predeceasing him are his parents and his brother, Donald Lariccia.
Throughout his life, Ed had the loving support of his entire family, especially his uncle and mentor Dom Rosselli.
His family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Heritage of Hudson for their kindness and loving care of Ed during his residence. He was very content with his life there.
Gratitude is also extended to all the cousins and other family members who were consistently sending cards, delivering milkshakes, and extending loving concern for him.
Due to COVID- 19, a memorial Mass for Ed will be scheduled at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman, Ohio at a future time.
