Obituary for Helen Dorothea Shiplett (Manion)

Helen Dorothea  Shiplett (Manion)
Helen Dorothea Shiplett passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on August 18. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Tyke" Shiplett, she is leaves her children Marie (John) Simpson, Dodie (Carl) Bechtel, Sherri (Tim) Lemley, Shelli (Dave) Johnson, and Don Shiplett, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and more nieces and nephews than she could count.
She is also survived by brothers, Pat and Jimmy Manion, and family Eileen Holbrook, Dorothy Smith, Mickey Shiplett, Judy Shiplett and Pete Shiplett.
Helen enjoyed crocheting, quilting and getting her hands dirty in the garden as well as playing Canasta and Poker.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Helen's family was the light of her life; as she was ours. We will all miss you dearly. XOXO.
