Obituary for Jean F. Longfellow (Reiber)

Jean F. Longfellow, 81, of Akron passed away on December 8, 2020. Her mind, heart and soul are now at peace. Born in Akron on October 12, 1939, the daughter of the late Conrad and Ann Reiber, Jean lived most of her life in Akron. For many years she worked as a waitress at various area restaurants including the Sons of Herman and Gueri’s.
Preceded in death by son, Gerald “JJ” Longfellow, daughter Debbie Jackson, and sisters, Kathie Hamas and Carol Kline, she is survived by daughters, Laurie Kaye, Tammy Capan, Misty (Jim) Fike, and Loretta (Keith) Fessler; son, Dean Longfellow; sisters, Judy (Fred) Layton and Janis Lambes; brother, Conrad (Barbara) Reiber. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with whom she loved spending time.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Hickory Ridge, especially Davette, Rachel, and Chad - her favorites.
Cremation has taken place, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St) where friends may call one hour prior to service time..
