Obituary for Jeanne M. Boos (Bessette)
Jeanne Marie Boos, age 91, passed away peacefully April 29, 2022. She was born November 17, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Emery and Marcella Bessette. Jeanne married Harold Boos, in July of 1951. Harry preceded her in death in 2011.
Jeanne inherited her considerable cooking, gardening, and needlecraft skills from her family. She was happy to pass these onto her grateful children and their children. A ‘Boos Family Cookbook’ was done in her honor to preserve favorite family food traditions, stories, and recipes, especially the family's favorite cookie recipes.
Jeanne was active in her Catholic faith and Parish activities in Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Dayton Ohio, and Upstate New York. She enjoyed life long friendships with neighbors and ladies from her church. Her grandchildren and pets gave her much joy. Jeanne’s sense of humor kept her family and caregivers at the Stow Briarwood Health Center amused to the end.
Jeanne is survived by her children and spouses, grandchildren and spouses and great-grandchildren: Joanne and Harry Cottell, Peter Cottell, Claire and Patrick Ahern; Kathleen and Donald Berkemeyer, Andrea and Benjamin Kaminski, Ethan Kaminski, Julia Kaminski; Mary Ellen and Michael Gale, Emily and Robert Graham, Kimberly and Cale Ritchey, Ella Ritchey, Eva Ritchey; John and Renee Boos, Natalie Boos, Gregory Boos; Carole and Najeeb Ahmed, Emery Ahmed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow Ohio, 3179 Kent Road, Fr. Paul Rosing presiding. The Rite of Committal will follow that afternoon at Western Reserve Veterans Cemetery Seville, Ohio.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to The Audubon Society.
