Obituary for Joseph Alan Randall

Stow- Joseph Randall, 60, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2022, as the result of a tragic accident on his way to work.

Born in Canton, Ohio on March 7, 1962, Joe’s family moved to Omaha, Nebraska followed by Council Bluffs, Iowa where he graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. After graduating, Joe entered the Air Force and served for 4 years and got the opportunity to travel around the world. After the Air Force, Joe began attending The University of Akron where he received bachelor’s degrees in Sports Medicine and Education as well as an associate’s in Fire Protection. During college, Joe served 4 years in the National Guard. Joe taught at Ledgemont Local Schools for a number of years before teaching at Berkshire Local Schools located in Burton, Ohio.

Joe was an avid motorcyclist and auto enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling and has visited several states and countries including multiple Caribbean islands, Australia, New Zealand, Central America, Ireland, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Hawaiian Islands and Aruba where favorite destinations of Joe and his family.

Joe had a great sense of humor as anyone in his family and circle of friends can attest to. He adored his cat, Sylvester who had recently passed. He enjoyed physical fitness and teaching physical fitness and health education. Joe was quite competitive especially in all things related to sports. Joe also further contributed to his community through coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. Joe enjoyed listening to alternative rock. He took pride in his lawn and cars. Joe would often go overboard with holiday displays, especially at Halloween. His house decorations tended to be the main attraction in the neighborhood. He was also known as the “master fixer upper” and could do about anything involving home remodeling and maintenance. His passions included his faith, family, cars, travel, and his wife’s cooking. Joe and Laura and their family attend Riverwood Chapel in Kent for the past several years. He and his wife have passed their faith and spiritual values to their children as did their parents before them.

Joe and his wife Laura (nee King) enjoyed 25 blessed years of marriage and together raised two wonderful children - Madison Mackenzie Randall age 20 and Aidan Joseph Randall age 17. Joe is also survived by his father John Harlen Randall, his sisters Julie and Jeanne Randall and Jody Keiper as well as his brothers John, Jesse, and Jeffrey Randall. Joe is preceded in death by mother Joyce Ann Randall and his sisters Rowena and Jill.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Wednesday November 9th at Riverwood Chapel located at 1407 Fairchild Ave., Kent, OH 44240. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00. The Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00. A reception for family and invited guests will immediately follow.
