Marian Christopher, 96 of Stow, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on September 20, 2022, with her daughter by her side. She was born February 16, 1926, on a farm and raised in Bay Village, Ohio, where she was a Charter member of Bethesda-on-the-Bay Lutheran Church and graduated from Bay High School in 1944. Marian earned a Bachelor of Science at Baldwin Wallace College in Home Economics and was a member of Beta Sigma Omicron. She worked at the Columbia Gas Company for 2 years, during which time she met her husband, Edward William George, at a wedding. They married on September 10, 1949, and built their dream home in Bay Village, on Salem drive where they lived for 37 years and raised their family. Marian was a dietician for over 10 years at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Avon, Ohio. They retired to Lake Wylie, South Carolina in 1987, where Ed passed away in July of 1993, after almost 43 years of marriage. Marian then met her 2nd husband, Russell Christopher, at her church and was married again on December 17, 1994, and built their dream house in Homosassa, Florida, where they lived until they moved to Stow, almost 12 years ago. Russell passed away in February of 2014. Marian was a gifted and award-winning quilter and excellent seamstress. She collected strawberry everything and antiques and filled her homes with both. Preceded in death by both her husbands, her sister Beverly Olsen and sons Stu and Eric George, she is survived by her sister Patricia Landers of Stone Mountain, GA; daughter, Holly Jacob (Dave) of Stow; grandsons, Eric George (Emilie) of Columbus, Mathew Jacob of Stow, Griffin Jacob (fiancé Krissy) of North Ridgeville, and Connor Jacob of Cuyahoga Falls; great granddaughters, Kamryn and Reese Jacob of Stow.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at The Community Church of Stow, United Church of Christ, 1567 Pilgrim Drive, Stow, Ohio, 44224, 330-688-8927, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon immediately following in the church fellowship hall. The family will greet guests starting at 10:30 a.m.
