Obituary for Matthew James "Matt" Ramsey
Matthew James Ramsey, 55, died Sunday July 24th, 2022 with his family by his side.
Matt was born on July 5th, 1967 in Akron, Ohio to William and Judy Ramsey.
He graduated from Stow-Monroe Falls High School in 1985 and then went on to join the US Navy as a Seabee from 1987 to 1991.
Matt was a hardworking and dedicated construction laborer for over 30 years. On the weekends it wouldn’t be unusual for Matt to be working on side jobs, in fact he and his buddies started a business called “The Last Roof Roofing Company”. Matt always made time to help anyone with any project, repair, or task they needed help with.
Matt was often found barefoot, running around organizing kickball games and numerous fun activities for all of the neighborhood kids to enjoy. He was known to many as the life of the party, a real "Natty Daddy Enthusiast".
Always cracking a joke, Matt was full of energy and laughter.
In his spare time, you would find Matt supporting and coaching his daughters at their sporting events. He is known as the biggest and loudest fan. You would always hear him in the crowd yelling to his daughters as they played “Run! Get on your horse!”
Matt was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rooting for the Minnesota Vikings. Every Sunday you would find Matt with his friends and family cheering on his favorite teams.
He is survived by his 3 beloved daughters, Kayla Jane Ramsey, 23, Madalyn “Matty” Mary Ramsey, 21, Delaney Lynn Ramsey, 17, brother, William M. Ramsey, honorary brother, Shawn Kaminski, and former wife, Jennifer Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Ramsey, and father, William B. Ramsey.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:30, Saturday July 30th. at the home of Jennifer Ramsey (3006 Ravineview Dr., Stow, 44224).
