Obituary for Michael D. Collins

Michael D. Collins, 74, passed away on October 6 after a long illness. Born in Akron the son of the late Martin and Marguerite Collins, Mike has been a life-long resident of Akron. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.
His survivors include wife, Barbara (nee Etter); sons, Michael C. (Micah), and Nikolas; sister, Mary (David) Stevens; brothers, Jerry (Judy), Thomas, William (Nancy); grandchildren, Armani and Lillian. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Martin.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Inurnment and military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman will follow.
