Obituary for Michael K. "Mike" Dye

Michael K. Dye, 64, passed away after a long fought illness on Sept. 15, 2018. Known as "Mike", he was born in Akron to Mary Catherine "Kate" and Thurman Dye on Aug. 11, 1954. He was a proud graduate of Garfield High School, home of the Rams. He lived most of his life in Firestone Park. Later after getting married in the 1980's, Mike moved to Las Vegas, NV where he called home. He took pride in his job at Bally's and later at the Flamingo Casino before retiring in October of 2017. It was during his career at the Flamingo that he discovered a fondness of reading his Kindle.
He's most remembered by his love ones for his quick wit, sarcasm, passion for Legos, always answering the phone when you needed to talk, and especially his love for his family, friends, and dogs.
Preceded in death by is mother, Mary Catherine Harrigan Dye, he is survived by wife, Bonnie; brother, Thom (Bonnie); nephew, Shaun (Tracie); niece, Tracy; stepdaughters, Melissa and Jessica (Jason); stepson, Bobby (Rhonda); sister-in-law, Dana (Gary); father, Thurman; sister, Terrye; nephew, Winston (Shannon); as well as several grandkids, great-nieces, great-great nephew; and most importantly fur babies, Mickey and Minnie.
No services to be held at this time, cremation has taken place.
Due to his love of dogs, any donations are asked in his name to the ASPCA or your local Humane Society.
