Obituary for Ronald Keith Robinson Sr.

Canal Fulton - Ronald “Keith” Robinson, Sr., 76, beloved husband of the late Kathleen “Katie” Jane Robinson, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center, in Canton, Ohio.

Keith was born on April 2, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, the seventh of seven children of the late Elmont and Nona Lena “Mawie” Robinson, Sr. He was supposed to be born on the first, but he fooled them and came on the second.

Keith is survived by three children, Michele Robinson, Ron (Tawnya) Robinson and Chris (Jessica) Robinson; seven grandchildren, Dillon, Haley (T.J.) and Garret (Corynn) Langston, Scott and Sadie (Austin) Robinson and CJ and Cecilia Robinson; a great-granddaughter, Rose Hollar, whom he adored; his special little ladies, Lilah and Norah Csapo; bonus children Scott and “Suzi” Bowen; and his older brother and best friend, Gene Robinson.

After graduating from East High School in Akron, Ohio, Keith had several careers over the years, but no matter what he was doing at any given time, his work always involved vehicles of one type or another. Upon “retirement,” Keith was finally able to devote more time to his garage, classic cars and, of course, his furry children. He quickly found that full retirement was not for him, and he ended his second round of jobs as the Vehicle Maintenance Officer for the Hagerstown Police Department, a position in which he took great pride and found much enjoyment.

Whether you called him Dad, Grandpa, Pap or Keith, anyone that really knew him, knows that he was wise, worked tirelessly for his family, was rarely idle and told it like it was (often with a side of questionable humor). He was larger than life and his gifts of wisdom and love will be forever part of those that loved him most.

Special thanks is given to Melvin Horst and Aaron and Missy Morris for all that they did for Keith; he was amazed by the talents of these two fine gentlemen and valued all of their friendships.

Calling hours will be on Saturday from 10 to Noon at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where funeral services will take place at Noon. Interment will follow at the Marlboro Cemetery.
