Ruth M. Boveington passed from this life into eternal life with Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 25, 2021. Ruth was born on October 16, 1928, in Cleveland Ohio, to Arthur and Edith Koch, who preceded her in death. She had one brother, Paul, 18 years her senior, who also preceded her in death. Ruth was a longtime resident of Stow and Cuyahoga Falls, and attended Holy Family and St. Eugene's Catholic Churches. She was a regular blood donor for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, baseball, football, Ohio State, playing cards, and going to the "Nat".
A child of the depression, Ruth was a very hard worker and had a strong work ethic. As many children were during those times, she was gainfully employed from an early age. After graduating from Notre Dame Academy in Cleveland in 1946, she attended Bowling Green State University where she studied business. Her working resume included Lamb Electric, Merletti Construction; her background in Sales included Halle's, Burnbaums, and the Village Store at the then newly constructed Chapel Hill Mall. She will be remembered most for her tenure at Falls Savings Bank, Stow Branch. Ruth worked her way up the banking ladder as a teller, head-teller, manager, and assistant-treasurer before retirement. She also attended the Savings and Loan Institute of Financial Education. With her excellent reputation for customer service, she could not travel anywhere without seeing someone she knew "from the bank"!
Her husband of 50 years, George, and son, Kenneth, preceded her in death. God blessed them with six children; one daughter and five sons. Two sets of twins! Daughter, Beth (Harry), sons, Bruce (Rosanna), Kurt (Leslie), Guy, and Greg (Ginny), survives her. Ruth was also blessed with nine grandchildren, Dana (Eric), Michele (James), Lauren (Steve), Brian, Taylor (Tom), Brent, Elise, Becky (Jason), Cory and nine great-grandchildren, Kellyn, Aksel, Taryn, Bennett, Scarlett, Eliana, Chloe, Hunter and Zachary. Many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Ray Johns and his family also survive her.
We will remember her as a mother with her hands full, but a mother who was so kind; she could never say an unkind word about anyone. She woke up every day with a smile and counting her blessings. We thank the Lord for giving her a kind spirit. Mom was a blessing to all who knew her!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January15, at Holy Family Church, 3179 Kent Rd., Stow, Ohio.
