Obituary for Floyd G. Hawkins

Floyd G.  Hawkins
On Thursday, March 19th, 2015, Floyd G. Hawkins, age 83, was welcomed into the presence of his Savior. Floyd was a loving husband, a faithful father and a humble servant to his church, his friends and his community. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his sons, Timothy (Rebecca) and Thomas (Beverly); and his brother, Benjamin. Floyd was preceded in death by his son, Richard.

The legacy of floyd’s life included faithful service to his country during the Korean Conflict, a 44-year career at Goodyear’s “Rim Plant” and his “quietly in the background” servant spirit that made him invaluable to his church and his community. His most lasting legacy can be seen in the lives of his 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be on Sunday form 3- 6 p.at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where Pastor Tom Hogshead will officiate at a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Interment at East Liberty Cemetery will follow with military honors rendered by VFW Post 3383.
