Obituary for Patrick Francis "Pat" Dunn

Patrick Francis "Pat" Dunn
Pat was born September 2, 1923 to Joseph and Charlotte Dunn. He attended St. Martha Grade School and St. Mary High School. He served in the Army as a communications specialist in Normandy during the time of the invasion. After serving in the Army, Pat married Arlene Lutz and together they had 6 children. They lived together on North Hill until she passed away in 1976.

He later married Anne Schmidt and lived in Ft. Myers, Florida. Pat was a member and president of many organizations including the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society, Communication Workers of America, St. Martha bowling league and Summit Sportsmen's Association. He was an avid fisherman both in Akron and Ft. Myers. He always had a joke or story for everyone he met.

When Pat wasn't fishing he spent time painting. He lettered signs and vehicles as far back as anyone can remember. In retirement, he painted pictures which are proudly displayed in his children's homes.

Besides his wife Arlene, Pat was preceded in death by son, Eugene; brothers, Jack, Tom and Joe; sisters Betty Dunn and Rita Gabelman; and stepson Mike Schmidt.

He is survived by wife Anne; children, Edward(Karen), Terrance(Anna Mae), Mark(JoAnn), Patrick(Gloria), Sharon(Eric), Marianne(Bruce) and Debbie(Steve), daughter-in-law, Barbara Costigan; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Caston and Jean (Roger) Casseday; and sister-in-law, Irene Dunn.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (St. Martha's) followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
A special thanks to Toni from Comfort Keepers Ft. Myers and to Bruce and Marianne for taking such good care of our Dad.
