Obituary for Colleen Ann Hopkins

Colleen Ann Hopkins
Colleen Ann Hopkins, 61, passed away April 1, 2016. She went quietly and quickly in her sleep, at her home in Woodway, Texas, with her loving family at her side. She is no longer in the pain she suffered for over two years.
Colleen worked as a elementary teacher for many years, including 3 years at South Bosque Elementary; however more than anything, she loved doing nice things for the people she loved and taking care of people. She was more kind, loving, and unselfish than anyone who did not know her could ever imagine. The people who did know her could not believe their good fortune in having an angel such as Colleen in their lives.
She loved flowers, gardening and traveling, and she never said “No” to an adventure.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie (Thome) Maul, both of Stow, Ohio.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 34 years, Michael of Woodway, and her children whom she loved with all her heart; Daughter, Erin Hopkins of Keene, NH, and son, Ethan Hopkins and wife Andrea of Euless, Texas; brothers and sisters; David Maul of Gahanna, Ohio, Maureen Anderson of Southington CT, Tom Maul of Sweetwater, Texas Noreen Hamner of Linthicum, MD, and Joe Maul of Pickerington, OH.
Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8PM at Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 3333 Kent Rd. in Stow, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Rd. in Stow. her childhood church in her hometown. Burial will follow at Tallmadge Cemetery, in what used to be the backyard of her husband’s childhood home, now part of the city cemetery.
