Obituary for Barbara "Barb" Zuppa

Barbara A. “Barb” Zuppa passed away peacefully on January 22, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with several illnesses. She was born in Akron to the late Theodore M. and Katherine Zuppa on March 8,1942. Barb graduated from Stow High school in 1960. After working over 20 years in the Radiology Department at St. Thomas Hospital, she retired as Supervisor. Her second career she loved equally as well. Born out of a hobby of collecting and refinished antique furniture, she started Morning Sun Antiques which she ran successfully for thirty years, until illness forced her to quit.
Barb is survived by her dearest and closest friend, Mae Dean Nickison; brother, Theodore J.(Carol) Zuppa
of Florida; nephews, Theodore R.(Robin) Zuppa of Virginia, and Richard M.(Janet) Zuppa of Texas; niece, Melissa A. (James) Read, and their son Skylar, all of Florida; cousins, Angeline (Phillip) Myers, and Vincent (Jackie) Westerman all of Ohio.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by interment at Stow Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care Center (3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron 44333) or the Humane Society of Greater Akron (7996 Darrow Rd. #30, Twinsburg 44087).
