Obituary for Elizabeth Charlotte "Betty" Moushey (Myers)

Elizabeth Charlotte "Betty" Moushey (Myers)
Elizabeth “Betty” Moushey, 92, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2016 at the Sprenger Hospice at Heather Knoll. Born on November 22, 1923 to Herman and Ethel Myers in Lima, Ohio, Betty joined an older brother, Bill (deceased).
On June 19, 1948 she married James Moushey at a lakeside chapel in Russell’s Point, Ohio. Together, they raised four sons, and were involved in parish life at Holy Family Church in Stow. Betty also volunteered at the Stow Library and E.J. Thomas Hall and knitted hundreds of caps and booties for newborn babies at area hospitals. Following Jim’s death in 2008, Betty moved to Kent Ridge Assisted Living facility where she made new friends, continued to indulge her love of reading, and participated in activities and events, especially bingo! She lived a long, full life and will be missed.
Betty leaves behind sons Stephen (Eileen) of Kent, OH; Thomas (Suzanne) of Alliance, OH; James Dennis of Las Vegas, NV; and Timothy (Nancy) of Columbus, OH. Grandchildren include Colleen Moushey-Lowther (Jay), Elizabeth Allyn, Jeffrey (Elyse), Rory (Elle), Katherine (Ben) Wilson, Nicolas (Amanda), and Jacob. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren.
