Obituary for Nick J. Avellino

Nick J.  Avellino
Nick J. Avellino passed away on March 8, 2016. Born a first generation Italian-American on July 18, 1935 to the late Nick and Marianne (Chasari) Avellina, Nick was a retired boilermaker, Local 744, Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952 until being honorably discharged in 1956. He was a lifetime member of the Firestone VFW Post 3383.
Proceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1996, he was also preceded by sons, Michael Avellino and James Smith; daughter, Mary Avellino; grandson, John Nicholas; and daughter-in-law, Susan Avellino. His survivors include sons, Nick and John Avellino, and David (Linda) Smith; daughters, Carol (Jeff) Stewart, Theresa (Rich) Berta, and Rose Avellino.
Friends may call from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery where Copley VFW Post 7971 will render military honors.
