Obituary for James E. Ritty

James E. Ritty entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Teresian House, Albany, N. Y. James was born in Akron, Ohio on April 23, 1926. He was one of six children born to Frances and Emil Ritty. In 1946, he married the love of his life, Patricia Kelly. After many years working for the Post Office, he completed his career with the Diocese of Cleveland Insurance office. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia; his son, Thomas; and his five siblings. He is survived by his children Michael (Susan) of Albany, New York; Kathleen (Vielhaber) Chiodo (Andrew) of Columbus, Ohio; Patrick (Janet) of Akron, Ohio; and Jeanne Dannemiller (Leo) of Mogadore, Ohio. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family wishes to acknowledge the Mount Carmel Staff at the Teresian House for their extraordinarily kind care and compassion in the months leading up to Jim’s peaceful passing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, 2016, 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, Ohio. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick Parish, Ravena, NY at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teresian House Center for the Elderly, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY or St. Patrick Parish, Ravena, New York or St. Francis De Sales Parish, Akron, OH.
