Obituary for Agnes Patricia Port

Agnes P. Port (nee Lukas),- 86, of Silver Lake, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
Born in Akron to the late Steven and Anna Lukas, Mrs. Port was a graduate of Garfield High School and went to Actual Business College as well as night school at the University of Akron. She worked at Summit County Court House for a number of years in the Auditor's office. She also worked as a secretary for the Harry B. Kohen Advertising Co. in New York City. Her last job was secretary to the Branch Manager at the Associates Corp. in Akron where she eventually met her husband, Ernie. They were married for 57 years having 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Stow, and belonged to the Silver Lake Grandmothers Club, the Silver Lake AARP, as well as attending her husband, Ernie's Air Corps Group luncheons. She belonged to a Bible Study from Holy Family that met in their homes. That group stayed together for years. The love of her life was her family. She will be dearly missed by her family. She also had many friends whom she enjoyed being with. Heaven has welcomed an angel.
Her survivors include husband, Ernie; daughters, Susan (Jerry) Hunt, Janet (Mark) McMannis, and Jennifer (Steve) Malynn; son, Ernie; 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Ann Bialy. Her son, John Port, preceded her in death.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.
