Alice Joy Conner, 93, passed away on February 21, 2012. Born in Smithville, Tenn. to the late James and Edna Smith. Joy had lived in Texas before moving to Akron with her parents. She married the love of her life Orville "Bucky " Conner in 1940. They shared many happy times. They loved ballroom and square dancing, travel, playing cards and most of all time spent with their children and grandchildren. After his passing in 1975, Joy remained active and was a regular participant at the Springfield Senior Center where she loved to play euchre.

She is survived by her children, Gayla (Harry) Brent, and Ronal (Carol) Conner; grandchildren, Shelly (Mike) Tripodi, Tracy (Rick)Freeman, Nathan Brent, Michael (Lori) Conner, Patrick (Mikelle) Conner, and Ron (Brenda) Conner; and 17 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where Pastor Myron Lindsey will officiate at funeral services on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
