Obituary for Betty Pauline Kovacic

Betty was born March 9, 1920 to the Late John P. and Pauline (Tashler) Lustic.
She grew up on Lane St. in Akron, attending Lane School and graduating from South High School in 1938. She worked at Sun Rubber Co. in Barberton with her friend Mary Spencer painting rubber toys; and later working for the Diamond Match Co.
She met the late William McElwee and they were married June 1, 1939 in St. Mary Church. They enjoyed over 50 wonderful years of marriage until William's death September 2, 1990. Betty married Frank Kovacic on February 3, 1993 in Florida and they shared over 18 wonderful years together.
Betty was a seamstress, she loved to dance, bowl and bake. Betty was often found in fashionable clothes and shoes as well. She raised Pomeranian's, her favorites were "Benji" and "Me-too".
Besides her parents and first husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Rudolph Lustic, Victor Lustic, and Don Lustic.
She is survived by her husband Frank; step-daughter Sally Capas, grandson Alex (Annie) Capas; nieces and nephews Leonard and Jackie, Caroline (Jack) Bauer, Donna and Richard, Karen, Rose, and "DJ" Lustic; two great grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4pm at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 3333 Kent Rd. at Rt.91 in Stow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday at St. Eugene Church in Monroe Falls, where friends may also call one hour prior to Mass (10-11am). Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Mulberry Gardens and Vitas Hospice for the compassionate care they gave Betty.
