Obituary for Margaret Mary "Peggy" Misra (Mosher)

Margaret Mary "Peggy" Misra (Mosher)
Margaret Mary Mosher Misra, died suddenly Feb. 14, 2015 but her legacy of love and kindness will live on. An eternal optimist known as Peggy, she was born Feb. 13, 1959 to Paul and Kathleen (Devany) Mosher.

She brought joy to her family and all who know her. From organizing benefit carnivals in Bedford and Kent as a child, to helping foreign students learn English or hosting countless family holidays, she made it all look easy.  A 1977 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Kent, she followed a family tradition in getting her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. There, she also had a career in information technology, including her proud induction into the 20-Year Club. She retired in 2013 to spend more time with her family and volunteer.

Peggy, with husband Dr. Santosh K. Misra, always shared immense pride in their children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. As a sister and friend, she was the best listener, with an easy and infectious laugh. A world traveler, she was comfortable in any culture, and was active with the Orissa Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her grandparents, Andrew and Beatrice Devany, and Charles and Lora Mosher. In addition to her loving husband, she leaves their children: Claire and Matt Stonestreet and daughter Madison; Vidya Misra and Richard Stanislaw; Sutanu and Sapna Misra and daughter Leher. Also her siblings, Mary Mosher: Patricia and Keith Myers; Kathleen and Daniel Patterson; Charles and Heidi Mosher; and Paul Mosher. Her family also includes mother-in-law Kanaj Lata; and Santosh’s siblings: Arati and Raj Pati, Basanati and Chatanya Das; and Bharati and Tapan Patnaik. Her heart also embraced her extended family and many friends she loved as family.

Visitation will be at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Road at Rt. 91) on Friday, Feb. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the University Parish Newman Center (1424 Horning Road, Kent, Ohio) on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trails Forever Legacy Fund; Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park; 1403 West Hines Hill Rd.; Peninsula, OH 44264.
