Condolence: After moving to Danbury I met Norma and Lola Mae, if you saw one you saw them both. They were great friends and took me into their circle. We sat for hours around a table in the front lobby, but liked it best when we could sit on the outside porch and talk and laugh about all sorts of topics. It was a blessing to know her these past 14 months.

Condolence: Norma Wallingford called me after reading an article about our knitting group that
meets at The Danbury apartments in Cuyahoga Falls. She joined our group and
was a welcome member who was a prolific knitter of beautiful Items she donated
to several different community services. We became friends and I enjoyed her
company, her thoughtfulness and laughter. She always accepted an invitation
to lunch, to a craft demo or whatever and when some of the events were not
of great interest to her, she was such a good sport and enjoyable company it was
not time wasted. She was a loyal member of St Eugene and a very social person
who enjoyed serving brunch to her fellow parish friends and her neighbors. She had so many talents and willing to share them with others but she especially looked forward
to the weekly Sunday dinner with her son, a teacher in East Cleveland, who brought stories (and his laundry) and entertaining experiences to share with his beloved mother.

She joined us as a widow with a very large three story house she loved and surrounded by great neighbors also loved. But gradually she began to consider moving and the thought of
down-sizing was daunting. It was difficult to say good-bye to her long time familiar surroundings but she bravely made a decision to move to the Danbury which she had found attractive and comfortable. We saw her thru the move and the problem search for
an interested buyer for her beloved piano, but, fortunately, the Danbury agreeably
made room for it in their second floor lounge. Fortunately, I say, because
we got to hear her play and she was magnificent – although we tried to talk
her into putting on a performance for us she opted not to – she preferred
to play alone and whenever she felt the urge, enjoyed the convenience of walking
down the hall and enjoying the solitude of her music. It was then she felt at home.

We prayed for her upon learning of her illness and we will miss her presence but
are grateful that she left this life, and good memories for us, and God willing, has
entered a better one to join with friends and family who passed before her and have
welcomed her back with joy and love.
