Obituary for Jeanette "Nettie" Hengle (Mann)

Jeanette "Nettie"  Hengle (Mann)
God just received another angel. We love you mom. You were our rock in life. In spirit she was an adopted mother of many of our friends.
Jeanette (Nettie) Hengle died peacefully in her apartment at the Gables of Green on January 10, 2018 in Green, Ohio, after a short illness and hospital stay. She was 91.
Nettie was born on September 12th, 1926 in Akron Ohio. She graduated from Akron Hower High School. She married Frank Hengle in 1949. They lived in Akron most of their married life and raised 3 children together; Kathy Harlan, Judy and Benny Hengle (kajube). They lived downtown on the property of Saint Bernard’s Church where they resided for over 13 years. They also resided on Hurlburt Avenue in Akron Ohio before and after living downtown.
She had a passion for photography and worked many years at Drobny Studios.
She volunteered at the grade school at Saint Bernard’s as a cook and anything else she could do to help as was her nature. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Sports fan. She loved the game of Euchre and was an excellent player.
Nettie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to support their sporting events and encouraged them to reach for their goals.
She is preceded in death by her parents Xavier and Augusta Mann, her husband, Frank Hengle, her sister, Alice Skoda, her brother Richard Mann and her son-in-law, Jim Harlan.
Nettie is survived by her daughters Kathy Harlan and Judy and her son Benny (Felicia), her sister Evelyn Thompson and her husband Ira, (Rebel), and four grandchildren, Pete (Tiffany), Steve, Danny Harlan and Kendra Hengle. She had one great grandchild, Jack.
Jeanette Hengle’s celebration of life will be held on January 19th, 2018 at Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 811 Grant Street, Akron Ohio 44311, from 3pm – 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 20th, 2018 at 10am at Saint Bernard’s Church 44 University Avenue, Akron Ohio 44308 in downtown Akron.
