The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jerry Blevins can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

You can always take a match to it

When Charlie and I bought this house, I would have to say we did so with an obscene amount of ambition and site of what it could be. I was so proud to bring my dad here and show him the beautiful trees and the land, maybe a little less excited to show him the house. It's old, and needs a lot of work. So my husband, Charlie and I, had this idea that we wanted to hang drywall in one of the bedrooms, something we had never done. My dad was the go-to guy, if you needed something fixed, no matter what he could do it. He was always there as soon as he could be, usually right after the phone call. So we got all the supplies and did our thing and dad rolled out here in his car and started showing Charlie what to do. He taught charlie a lot and they measured this piece of Sheetrock and went to hang it... but since the house had settled nothing was straight. So every piece had to be cut to fit, tops, bottoms, sides... everything. After about the third or forth piece my dad looked Charlie right in the face and said "well Charlie, you can always take a match to it". I think about that every time we are dealing with house stuff and laugh. He was a funny guy with a great sense of humor.
