Grandpa

Dear Grandpa,

Seeing you once a year was never enough but every year you made it so special that my childhood memories are forever blessed with happiness. It was one thing to be lucky enough to spend our summers in America but another entirely to have you to spend them with.

I am conforted by the fact that my husband got to meet you and that together we can tell our daughter just how wonderful you really are.

It breaks my heart that we cannot be there to say goodbye yet a part of me is happy, because this way I won't ever have to.
