I was at lunch with Evelyn

I will never forget the day my sister graduated from high school. No one could get in touch with Grandma Lois and her car was not in the driveway when we came over. As we walked inside to check things out Grams pulled up in the driveaway and we asked where she had been. She said, "why did I miss something?" (or something to that effect). When we said yes Grams, Leah's graduation, she replied well it must not have been on my calender. Her reply to the where have you been question was, "well, I was out to lunch with Evelyn". We laughed out loud and never forgot that day.

Another great thing about her was that she was always so full of life and on the go. Delivering meals on wheels to what they called the "old people", even though they were both in their 80's before they stopped, or going on one of their many AARP trips. I would sometimes garner the task of picking up Grandma Lois from the church where they had their meetings and Evelyn was always right there with a smile and a wave for me. Too many wonderful memories and not enough time to share them.
